ATP (Artefacts Trading & Performing arts) Centre aims to be a world-class & international Asian artefacts
trading and multicultural performing arts centre based at the iconic and
national heritage venue of Carcosa Seri
Negara, next to Parliament, Kuala Lumpur.
The ATP Centre is
supported by the government of Malaysia and can be seen as a type of Public
Private Partnership in making Kuala Lumpur a leading global centre of
excellence in Asian artefacts’ trading and performing arts and a major
destination for culturaltourism.
The ATP is not an
antique shop or a dealer but it would act like a large “stock broking house” of
Asian artefacts’ on display. With quality performing arts to be held there, the
ATP Centre would be drawing in high-spending tourists from China, ASEAN, Europe
and North America.
There are also
plans for an Asian martial arts display, Sarawak Gallery, Sabah Gallery, and
History Tour of the 34-acre heritage property and perhaps a small but impactful
gallery about Teresa Teng (Asian heritage icon), all aimed at attracting many
tourists to visit the place (about 12 million tourists visited Kuala Lumpur in
2016). Such a centre would be truly unique and the only one of its kind in the
world.
There would be a high profile marketing & promotion program,
to include leveraging on the existing promotion programs ofthe government’s
tourism and trade agencies concerned.
The Artefacts Business Division (ABD), a core division of the ATP
Centre (the other being the Performing Arts Division) would provide the
following services:

Authentication & Appraisal of Asian Artefacts
o
Training, Expertise & Consultancy on Asian Artefacts
o
Exhibition &Trading of Artefacts (AHM acting as an honest
& confidential broker)
Trading of Asian
artefacts shall be done via:
1)
EXHIBITION SALES (with private negotiation) for artefacts valued above RM 200,000 - all year round. All
artefacts must be authenticated and appraised by in-house experts. Approved
artefacts shall be put for display for a minimum period of one month and
maximum period of 3 months (can be renewed) with a monthly display and promotion
fee for each approved artefact.
o
For artefacts
valued from RM 5,000,000 and above - “Premium
Class” status.
o
For artefacts
valued from RM 1,000,000 to RM 4,999,000 - “Gold Class” status.
o
For artefacts valued
from RM 200,000 to RM 999,000 - “Silver Class”
status.
2)
FLEA MARKET SALESfor
artefacts valued below RM 200,000 - on weekends.
3)
AUCTIONS, after the ATP
Centre becomes very established and well known, to start with once a year and
it would depend on market demand.
The ATP Centre, to be well-promoted and highly publicized and with
top artefacts expertise from China available all year round, would be a major
attraction of many high-end tourists and potential buyers. This would certainly
boost the chances of Asian artefacts being sold at higher prices there.

FEES AND CHARGES FOR COLLECTORS OF ARTEFACTS
ATP CENTRE, CARCOSA SERI NEGARA, KUALA LUMPUR
1.
CLIENT REGISTRATION. Every collector/client
who wishes to exhibit his/her artefacts for sale or just for provenance
enhancement must be registered with a one-time basic registration fee of RM 1,000
and RM 500 for the weekend Flea Market (artefacts below RM 200,000 each) later
on. The ATP Centre is expected to start operations on 19 September 2017.
2.
AUTHENTICATION & APPRAISAL FEES.
Every artefact for sale must be authenticated and appraised (verbally) by our
top experts from China - RM 3,000 each with a certificate and RM 300 each
verbally (and for fakes). For Exhibition and Sales, authentication with a
certificate is required, for Flea Market, only verbal authentication is
required.
For very
expensive porcelain, we may also be offering (only an option) a 15-page
Certificate of “Premier Grade Authentication” for RM 6,000 each to include a
lab report (from a government lab in China) and signatories of 3 experts to aid
in marketing and promotion for sale of the artefact concerned.
The ATP Centre would have all year round availability of top technical
and market expertise from China on Asian artefacts.
3.
The EXHIBITION or
“DISPLAY, PROMOTION & ADVERTISEMENT” (DPA) FEES PER MONTH (minimum period: 1 month and maximum period: 3 months) for
Exhibition Sales.
Artefacts for Exhibition
Sales will be displayed & promoted under 3 main categories:
a)
artefacts valued
from RM 5,000,000 and above - “PREMIUM CLASS” status.
b)
artefacts valued
from RM 1,000,000 to RM 4,999,000 - “GOLD CLASS” status.
c)
artefacts valued
from RM 200,000 to RM 999,000 - “SILVER CLASS” status.
The DPA Fees PER MONTH are as follows:
a)
RM 20,000 each piece for artefacts valued at RM 10 million and
above
b)
RM 15,000 each piece for artefacts valued from RM 5 million to RM 9.9
million
c)
RM 10,000 each piece for artefacts valued from RM 1 million to RM
4.9 million
d)
RM 5,000 each piece for artefacts valued from RM 200,000 to RM
999,000
Every piece of artefact for exhibition
and/or sale must be registered separately
and individually with one form each.
4.
SALES COMMISSION on success, payable by Sellers to AHM, shall be
15 percent of the final sale price.
